Week 68πŸ’Œ- Transfer News and General Conference

 Transfers are on the 8th, Jergy and I are staying together!! And Petey is leaving 😭

Spiritual Thought: Ephesians 2:19-20
19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is built upon the same principles today that it was in Old and New Testament times. The church is built upon the foundation of apostles and prophets who receive revelation and wisdom from God to guide the Church. Christ is the chief cornerstone and the Head of His church. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father loves me and is aware of me, and of you. He cares so deeply for us that He gives us modern day revelation. We learn in the Bible that God is the same yesterday, today and always. If he called prophets and apostles then, it stands to reason that an unchanging God would call them now. I am grateful for the foundation of prophets who know the challenges of today and are prepared and willing to fight them with us and a Savior who will fight them for us.

Quarta: Happy pday! I slept so terribly last night, I think I fell asleep around 1 and then woke up at 3:30, 4:15, and 5:45 and just stayed awake. But hey, I was excited!! We drove a little over an hour to get to the Boston temple. There were a ton of other missionaries there too. We went and did an endowment session and spent some time in the Celestial room. It was gorgeous!! While we were taking pictures outside, we saw President and Sister Risenmay. I love Sis Risenmay so much!! We drove to go get lunch and I called my brother and we got to yap for a bit. Parking in Boston is a nightmare! We were driving in circles forever before we said a prayer to find parking, and then we were guided down a street and found parking!! We then walked to Shake Shack. The food was good, but pretty heavy, so I didn't eat much. We then went and checked out some of the stores. There was a cool Harry Potter themed store that we saw! We then drove to this ice cream shop that Jergy has been dying to try since she got here. I got a brownie peanut butter ice cream cup thing. It was so good, but we all felt SO ill afterwards. Like genuinely dying. I then had to drive to Walmart, with traffic, it was 1 hour and 15 minutes instead of 35. My mission credit card isn't working, so I need to figure that out. Guess WHAT! I GOT SOME EGGNOG!!! IT'S OFFICIALLY EGGNOG SEASON! We got home at like 5:15 so I had a bit of time to call my mom. We then spent the rest of our night working on the ABC list and had 3 back to back lessons on prophets and General Conference. Dude I just felt so ill. This is why I don't eat ice-cream.

Quinta: I'm trying to finish the BOM before the Saturday morning session, ehich means I had to read 9 chapters today😡 I was actually supposed to finish it before LAST conference.. but my migraine threw me off. It's okay though, I'm locking in. We had a morning phone lesson about GC with Alexia, hopefully she tunes in and watches. We were calling people after lunch, and then we got kicked out of WhatsApp. Ughhh. Just for a few hours though, so it's chill. Part of today's focus was putting up flyers for Noite de Integração and English class. We haven't had people show up for class the past couple of weeks, so we're trying to fix that. We hit up some stores in Marlborough that allow you to put up ads. We then did a couple of stopbys and went to Westborough to go finding. We walked for forever and found no one. There weren't many people who went out, and those who were, not Portuguese. We went down to Framingham to do more stopbys and put up flyers down there and went home for dinner. I used Eggnog in my oatmeal bc I didn't have milk…guys it was SO GOOD. 10/10. I need Eggnog more in my life. After dinner we went to the church and called people and had an online lesson with Jhonny. He is super excited for GC, and he is starting to get off crutches! He seems like a really great guy. We went home and had a zone zoom to find out that the mission goal for the month of Oct is 92 baptisms!

Sexta: Okay idk what I did, but my legs were so sore today. I did legs yesterday at the gym, but I don't feel like I did enough to be sore. We had a mission zoom this morning and listened to the departing testimonies of some of the missionaries. We have ZC first in the transfer, so I'm giving mine in like 3 weeks. No one is going to have ANY idea who I am, I'm just gonna pop ip and be like “its been a great month and a half here, cheers to one more!” Oh!! I hit 1 mΓͺs in Boston today!! After the mission zoom, Grandma Doris (the senior health missionary) came to do apartment checks. She is recovering from back surgery, so she didn't like how many stairs we had. She didn't check the upstairs half and said she would sign off on it by honor code. We then got donuts from her! While she was here, I got an email titled “departure is fast approaching” WHAT DO YOU MEAN?? They said they need to start booking my flight info, so I have to confirm my parent’s address, phone numbers, emails and the best airport. I'll get my travel packet at the Zone Conference. What the heck guys?! I drove for stop bys today, and man I wanted to fall asleep. My comps were dozing off. We left GC flyers and a calling card at each house. We then went finding in Marlborough Main and had a phone lesson with Pedro. Dude seems like a chiller! After that, we went to Playa Bowls for dinner. For the past 4 weeks, every time my cimps mentioned this place, I thought they were saying Pliables. So I was surprised to discover that it's 2 words. I got a super yummy aΓ§ai bowl and then we went to the church to start a greenline. We got a hold of a few people who are interested in the game night and some who are interested in conf!

SΓ‘bado: HAPPY GENERAL CONFERENCE DAY!! I actually think I ate close to 8000 calories today. 10/10. We started the day off by doing our boardwalk walk and then having p study. Jergy made some chocolate chip scones, so I had one for breakfast. I also had a lemon poppyseed muffin, so good. We then pushed all of our beds together to form a MEGA-BED. I called and ordered ahead a couple of Brazilian pizzas and mini coxinha. We went and picked those up and settled in for the first session. It was good! Our bestie Eld Hathaway gave a great talk, it was fun getting to say “I know that guy!”. I really likes Sister Runia's talk as well. When Eld Christofferson came on, my comps and I were joking that he is always super direct and sometimes controversial. And he starts off with “I feel like Jacob, called to admonish and not to speak pleasant things”. Danggg. There go my 21st bday plans… After lunch, we headed to walk Marlborough Main. We didn't really find anyone who was interested, but it was nice getting out of the house. After that, we got some GC snacks and locked in for the 2nd session. WOW it was good. I loved the emphasis on love and ministering. Rasband's talk was my favorite from this session. After the sesh, we went to the church to call the greenline and have our noite de jogos. Only one person showed up and I felt so bad, he left. And lowk, some members of our district weren't super focused, but I thought it was fine because everyone was stuck inside all day watcging GC. My comps and I went to the bathroom before trying to leave to go home, and we come back and Gilbert is like “There's clearly some tension, lets pray and have DC”. What on earth did we miss? Sister Lantz was kind of not being super nice and told everyone what she thinks they are doing wrong. We then all agreed to be more focused (we were focused the whole time…) and went home. Petey made some rice krispy treats and we had our call in with Gilbert.
Here is a rundown of everything I ate, and now feel like I'm gonna puke up
- 2 scones
- 1 muffin
- 4 slices of pizza
- 5 mini coxinha
- Airhead extremes
- Popcorners
- Rice Krispy
- 2 chocolate covered cinnamon bears
- Eggnog
- Aloe Vera juice
- A partridge in a pear tree
I don't think I've eaten that much sugar in a LONG time, or will again because holy stomach ache. Now boutta head to sleep in the MEGA BED, wish me luck!

Domingo: We THOUGHT about going to the gym this morning and then we woke up. Heck nah. We went back to bed for an hour before we got up and got ready. We had a super yummy brunch at 10 with the Pitcavages. They had waffles, chocolate croissants, mini quiches, sausage, fruit salad, a veggie salad, buffalo chicken dip and cream puffs. It was SO good. Sister Pitcavage is so nice, and she has a friend in my stake. Seriously small world! After we ate and we were all full, they brought out creme brulee. Holy delish. They had the blowtorch and everything! They also had a gluggle, and I want one so bad. After brunch, we got cozy in our MEGABED and watched the first session. I think I actually did fall asleep for at least a talk…but that's okay. I of course loved President Oak's talk on the Gospel, but I also really loved Eld Dube's talk on coming unto Christ to be perfected. After the first session, we took a 30 minute nap and then we went on a walk around the boardwalk!! Then we were ready to lock in for session 2. My favorite talks from this session were Uchtdorf's and Sinclair's. We had 6 friends in total watch General Conference!! One of them was a grey that we contacted randomly, and he watched THREE sessions!! This was such an incredible conference, and I am so grateful for the blessing of modern prophets, seers and revelators. After that, we had call-ins and did weekly planning. We had a mission zoom (went 15 min overtime) and then we had T-texts (transfer texts). So transfers are on Thursday, and Jergy and I are staying together in a duo and Petey is leaving😭😭😭 Then I called my fam for a bit and we yapped about how depressing it is that President is stealing Petey
