Week 69πŸ’Œ- Last Transfer

Hey guys!! I have officially started my LAST TRANSFER! How scary/exciting is that?? I found out that I'll be trio training this transfer too, so thoughts, prayers and emails would be greatly appreciated. Our daughter arrives on Wednesday. Seriously though, I would love to hear from you guys about how you are doing, emails make my DAY!

Spiritual thought: Doctrine and Covenants 84:83-84

83 For your Father, who is in heaven, knoweth that you have need of all these things.

84 Therefore, let the morrow take thought for the things of itself.

I am an overthinker and an overplanner. Sometimes that can work in my favor, it helps me be organized. Other times, it's stressful. I love this scripture because it tells us that Heavenly Father knows what we need and He knows what is going on in our lives. We don't need to stress as much about tomorrow, because He has already handled it. He has a plan for our future, so we can relax and let Him lead. Tomorrow is handled because our Father loves us and cares about our worries. Just live in the moment, tomorrow will take care of itself.

Segunda: Happy pday yall! We slept until 7 and then went to the gym. I was supposed to do chest and arms, but after chest I was just tired. My head wasn't in it today, so I went on a walk on the treadmill. We went grocery shopping and I got stuff for quesadillas and I got grapes. We also got laundry detergent which is great because I am OUT of clean clothes. We had enough for me to do a load before we left. We went to Walmart and went straight to Chick-fil-A. My dad is flying today, but he had a brief layover and I got to call him. We found out that we were both at Chick-fil-A getting lunch and we made sure to get a photo. All I can say is, great minds think alike! Chick-fil-A was a good time. After that, we were planning on going home, but then Sis Lantz invited herself over to the Elders clubhouse. So we all went. Yall, it's BOUJEE. They have a huge gym and a pool table. Sister Snow and I walked on the treadmill while we called our families. I talked to my brother for a bit and then my mom and grandparents. We made a stop at Trader Joe's and I got an orange chicken bowl, some pumpkin spice bagels, and cream cheese. I've been craving bagels for like 2 weeks now, so this was perfect. When we went home, I switched my laundry and took a nap. I then talked to my mom and dad. After pday ended, we headed to the church to print out flyers and have some lessons. ⅔ people that we had scheduled for today didn't pick up, so we called greys. Our last lesson though was good! He was a media reference who we got in contact with last week and watched Conference. We had no idea what his name was until today, because he said that the name he used to fill out the form wasn't his name. But now we know that his name is Gumirceno! He said that he wants to come to church and maybe be baptized. We've got a followup lesson with him on Wednesday. Midway through the lesson though, this ENORMOUS bug flew and landed on Sis Jergensen. The silent panic was comical. We were all freaking out and trying to kill it silently. Thankfully, the bug is dead. We got home and deconstructed MEGA BED. Around 10pm, the APs sent us a text saying that we are going to be receiving a VISA waiting greenie on the 14th. Uhhh what?? Because she is waiting on a VISA, we have no idea how long she will be with us, could be a week or two, could be the entire transfer. I'm going to be a mom! Again! Jergy and I get to be lesbian moms together, it's gonna be a blast. This'll be her first daughter, so she's so excited.

TerΓ§a: Pstudy is a lot more chill now that I'm not trying to study the BOM AND the Bible AND a conference talk in one hour. Amen, hallelujah. Today was a good day! I had a pumpkin spice bagel for lunch, I didn't realize how much I'd missed bagels until that moment. We called some friends and then did stopbys. After stopbys, we walked Fram Main. We didn't find any Portuguese speakers, but we found a cute English girl. While we were walking, we heard this goat-like SCREAM coming from a car driving down the road, it was our DL and his greenie. Guys are actually so weird. We had a really really fire lesson with Jr Mario Dupra! He is the guy who watched THREE sessions of conference! We were explaining how a regular church service goes, and he interrupted to ask how someone can be a member. We explained baptism and he said he's interested! He also asked if members have to marry other members, which was suss for a second, but we remembered that GC talked a lot about marriage. We are going to talk to him again on Thursday and extend a date. We showed him a baptismal calendar which shows him everything that needs to happen before he can be baptized. After that lesson, we went to Chipotle for Sis Petey's last meal. I got a fire quesadilla. We then decided to stop by Adna. We dropped her last week because she doesn't respond to our messages, but we thought we would visit her in person. She was home, and was so happy to see us! She said that her days are super busy between work and her baby. She talked about how she is never on her phone, because 2 minutes on her phone is 2 minutes that she loses with Matteo. She drops him off at day care at 6h45 and doesn't get to pick him up until 18h, and then she only has a couple of hours with him before he sleeps. I am so impressed with her. She said that she never went to church in Brazil because she felt that they didn't practice what they preached, but that she loves coming to ours. She said that Matteo loves the hymns. She said that she'll be at church this Sunday, she might be late, but she'll be there. It was such a nice time talking to her, she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. We had to reschedule our lesson with Jhonny for tomorrow, but we were where we needed to be.

Quarta: Petey's last day ☹️ we had to make it a good one! I took the language test and got a 7.2, which means that I'm officially fluent!! We were calling greys after lunch, and I am yet again in awe of the confidence Brazilian men have. I called this guy and he said he was in Brazil. I was like oh that's cool, I love brazil! He then asked for my instagram and I told him I don't have it during my mission (let's ignore after). He then asked for my WhatsApp and I told him I'm calling him on it. He was like no, your personal WhatsApp! Told him that's a Brazilian thing, I don't have one (lie). I then ended the call and he texted “I really liked talking to you”. Whelp. We had a cool little miracle. Petey wanted to say goodbye to Will, but he's been kind of MIA, and when we tried to schedule something, the schedules weren't lining up. We do our weekly planning of where and when to be on Sunday, right? While we were parking lot finding, who did we find sitting in his car?? Will!!! He was so excited to see us. He's been going through a lot this week with his fam which explains why he's been MIA, he almost had to go back to Brazil. After talking to him, we went to visit irmΓ£ Nilva. She has a super scary parrot who licks EVERYTHING. So this is how I found out that birds have tongues! We then went to walk Marlborough Main. While we were walking, we ran into the English Elders in their car, and Jergy told Wright all about his new area that hes going to tmr. We kept running into the Elders. At one point we were talking on the sidewalk and sharing snacks and this guy walked past. Matos invited him to church and the guy said “NO no no no no no no. I'm good, no” do you guys think he's coming? πŸ™„. My favorite interaction is still that lady who shook her finger at Jergy a few weeks ago. We went to a little Brazilian bakery for one last Brazilian treat before Petey goes English speaking. I got some fire mousse de maracujΓ‘, que saudades. We then went and did some stopbys and left NDI and EC flyers. At one house, the guy was actually home. He invited us in and said that his wife was home and in the shower. Not gonna lie, I immediately thought of the horror movie Heretic. It was chill though. We went to Cumberland (East coast Maverick) and finally participated in the Zone T-pose challenge. We then got home for our lessons. First up was Gumirceno, it went well! He said he's not opposed to being baptized, but he wants to come to church first which is valid. We had Nilva join at the end and she shared her testimony. We then had a lesson with Jhonny and taught him the Restoration. My favorite part was when I said that Joseph Smith was only 14, he said “WHAT! NO WAY!” I love when he randomly speaks in English. Also, this is so sad. Turns out all of those broken bones and those bruises? A PERSON did that to him. We were thinking that it was a motorcycle accident or something, but no. Apparently he told us in our last lesson, but it went over our heads. Will told us this morning, how awful

Quinta: Goodbye Petey!!! TransferΓͺncias weren't until 1, so we got to have a chill morning. We went to the gym and I walked the whole time, about 1.5 miles. I was feeling restless during p-study, so I decided to clean out the fridge door. When I got here, all three shelves were completely full of condiments, to the point where some were stacked on top of each other. I went through one by one and checked the expiration date. Guys…some of them had expired before I graduated HIGH SCHOOL. 🀒 I found one that had expired in 2023. Once I went through the condiments, it freed up an entire shelf so now we have a drink shelf! We also threw out some eggs that we found, they had expired in August. Mission fridges are another level of scary and just plain NASTY! But now it's beautiful and clean. For Petey's last meal, we tried a new restaurant, Mooyahs. I have a new favorite burger place! AND they have one in Mt View Village, 5 min from my house. I got a kids burger with sweet potato fries, and it was so good. After lunch we had to say goodbye to Sis Petey, so sad. We also bumped into Pres and he asked “Do you guys know you're training?” Don't worry, the APs told us. We got to go drop a BOM off at Jhonny's house and finally meet him in person. He talked about how he gets Botox done bc he doesn't want to look old or have lines. He also definitely has lip filler. Bro is 24!! He's so nice and funny though, I love him. He said the nicest prayer for us. While we were finding in Fram, we found this guy who had been on date when Jergy got here and then went MIA. Turns out his phone had broken and he had to get a whole new number, that's why he wasn't responding to any messages. We got his new number and he will be at church NEXT week, he works 1 week on, 1 week off. We had a lesson with Junior and were kind of building up to maybe put him on date, but he said he wants to go to church in person. Which is so valid. Also, Jergy and I made a goal to LOCK IN this transfer. So we went and walked on the treadmill for half an hour when we got home, it's gonna be our new nightly tradition.

Sexta: Jergensen and I realized that unfortunately, part of locking in includes eating…protein. Yuck! We asked Meta AI how much we should be eating and it told us 90g. 90 grams??? So I ate a protein bar for breakfast. We had a chill morning, I read some more of Job. After lunch, we did some stopbys. We also stopped by HoneyDew donuts because they have dirty soda!! Guys, I've missed it so much. I got their campfire diet cola, which is vanilla and marshmallow flavored. It was good, but a little too sweet. I think next time I'm going to get what Jergy got, which is coconut and lime. After we finished stopbys, we went and walked the MinerΓ£o loop. We talked to a few people but none of them were interested. Lame! After stopbys, we had a lesson with Tiago Jr and his family. This morning, Ju had sent us a text saying that Tiago Sr is being a jerk and they are fighting and not speaking to each other. We had confirmed with her that we could bring Bro Jones, but she said to tell Tiago. Thankfully, he was chill. We had a good lesson with Tiago Jr about the restoration. At the end though, Tiago Sr interjected to say that he is so glad he never had a daughter because girls are easily misled and that we are more susceptible to things of the world because we are weak minded. Bruh. Thankfully Bro Jones cut him off and let him know that we all needed to get going bc we had another lesson. We made it home just in time to call Hailton. We re-taught him the Restoration, it was great. He LOVES the Joseph Smith story. After our lesson, we finally got to eat dinner. I somehow ended the day with 49 g of protein. Why is protein SO hard to get? After 9, we headed to the gym to walk and do the district call-in. Lanz was on a power trip and got mad at the English Elders for being at Walmart and buying a towel for the greenie who didn't have one. (We can run to the store between 9-9:45 if we need something that can't wait until monday). And then she said we can't be at the gym. Girl, what? After our walk, we went to bed.

SΓ‘bado: Happy boardwalk day!! I couldn't walk the whole length of the boardwalk today, because someone was there taking their bridal. So I just walked the first half back and forth a few times. It's so pretty there in the morning, but it was about 40⁰. On our way home, we stopped by the gas station and I got a couple of protein shakes and bars. I started off my day with 30g! I think protein shakes are gonna be the way to go. After p-study, we went to the church to clean. It was just us and the 4 elders, not a single member showed up. After about 10 minutes though, 1 set of elders needed to leave for a lesson. Because there can't be one set of elders and sisters alone together, we had to leave too. I felt so bad leaving Gilbert and Kotter to clean the church alone. We went home and I ate my bagel. I'm going to try and buy eggs or protein bagels or something on Monday. We walked Marlborough Main for a bit and then tried to go visit Regiane. She wasn't home unfortunately, and she hasn't been responding to any of our messages. We then did a few stop-bys before heading home for dinner. I had chicken and saltines. So much chicken. But hey, I got 75g of protein today!! We then headed to the church. We bought thank you candy for Gilbert and Kotter for cleaning the entire church by themselves. No one showed up to NDI, which was a bummer. A few people that we called confirmed for church!! On our way home, we texted the mission nurse to ask if we could walk on the treadmill. Because of her stomach infection from Brasil, Jergy doesn't digest food as well as before, so her doctor had recommended a 30 min walk before bed. After Lanz said it was against the rules, we wanted to ask and be sure. Sis Christensen gave us the go ahead and said she would double check with President on Monday. Hopefully he has no issues with it. Idk why he would, but we'll see. I was kind of having a bum day, so going on the treadmill and yapping was a great stress reliever. We then shared funny pictures of our younger siblings and shared stories. It was a party!

Domingo: Happy Sabbath day!! We had so many people last night say that they were going to pull up to English class. Not a single person showed up. Great. We did have Jhonny at church today though!! Hailton gave him a ride, which was so great of him. I felt bad for Jhonny though, because there is no one in the Portuguese group close to his age. The closest is Will, but Will is sick so he wasn't there. Also today was Fast Sunday, which is SO hard. Also, some of the testimonies were… interesting. One guy gave a 6 minute talk about how they redid the chapel of his youth, one guy asked all of the families that he ministers to to stand up, just some random things. Jhonny chose to go to English Sunday School instead of Portuguese because the English ward has more YSA peeps. But he's basically fluent in English. After church, he said that he had received a lot of answers!! Yes!!! And we received a box of candy and a whole cake. I love members so much! We broke our fast when we got home and then went to take a nap. I couldn't fall asleep, but man I love being in sweats and in ma bed. We had to leave at like 2:40 for our member meal. Okay. So. Lazaro said a few weeks ago that he wanted to feed the missionaries and he asked about the 11th. We said we couldn't go because we had a meal with the Evan's. But then the English missionaries were trying to cancel on the Evans today to go to Lazaros because Lanz said that we HAD to do dinner with Lazaro. It became a whole thing. But the Evans decided to invite Lazaro and the 4 Spanish missionaries over and combine. Oh I felt so bad. Lanz and Mattos were just being so loud and yelling over each other and ignoring the members who invited us into our homes. It was so embarrassing! After we got home, we did language study and then had call-ins with the STLs and Gilbert. We had a great weekly planning and goal setting sesh. We are really gonna lock in on the protein goal this week, so we are gonna be absolutely shredded when we get back. We had a zone zoom again and then got to talk to fam.
